eighthgate is CitiPower and Powercor's innovation program. It is a conduit for unlocking and fostering innovative thinking, and converting that thinking into wealth for our business through a number of initiatives.

eighthgate Portal

The eighthgate portal is a collaboration tool, enabling employees to submit innovative ideas, rate ideas and add building blocks to develop ideas further. eighthgate simulates the progression of ideas using a number of tools, flowcharts and an innovation framework.

eighthgate Skills and Development Program

eighthgate develops and manages a skill and development program targeted at developing innovative skills and an innovative business culture. The program employs a number of initiatives from lunch and learns to facilitated workshops.

Scholarships

eighthgate provides scholarships for employees undertaking master’s level education in entrepreneurship and innovation.

Innovation Business Cup

The Innovation Business Cup is a competition based around individuals and teams developing significant business opportunities. The cup aims to build entrepreneurial skills and to source potential business opportunities.

Targeted Innovation Campaigns

Targeted campaigns motivate employees to address real business challenges. Employees are encouraged to contribute and submit ideas to specific business questions.

Innovation Sponsorship

eighthgate sponsors and supports a number of business plan competitions at universities and programs targeted at creating innovation and entrepreneurship within the community.
