Electricity Information

The Victorian electricity market is interconnected, and relies on four distinct functions to supply power to homes and businesses. Generators produce electricity at power stations, from which transmission companies deliver electricity along transmission assets to distributors. Distributors, like CitiPower and Powercor, in turn deliver electricity from terminal stations to customers along separate, fixed networks of underground and overhead poles and wires.

We are responsible for the quality and reliability of the electricity supply from terminal stations up to and including customers' individual points of connection.

This section contains information to help our customers manage their electricity supply from this point of connection, and contains applicable Codes and Guidelines that regulate the electricity industry in Victoria.
