Powercor is proud to back one of Australia’s great cycling traditions through our naming rights partnership with the iconic Melbourne to Warrnambool Cycling Classic, a race that’s essential as to our southwest Victorian communities.
For decades, the “Warrny” has run straight through our backyard, connecting towns, families and generations across our network. Along the route are many of our own people who live, work and volunteer in the region, with some carrying personal ties and proud histories in the race itself.
Renowned as one of the toughest one-day races in the country, the Powercor Melbourne to Warrnambool Cycling Classic demands grit, resilience and heart – all culminating on Raglan Parade in Warrnambool, where the race has finished for generations. More than a finish line, it’s a moment that belongs to the local community, drawing crowds that cheer it on year after year.
The Warrny truly runs through our backyard and through the heart of distribution network in southwest Victoria. From the start line at Avalon Airport to the iconic finish line on Raglan Parade in Warrnambool, every home and business along the full 267km route is a Powercor customer.
Our crews work on this network every day, so we understand the conditions riders face, particularly the punishing coastal winds that roll between Port Campbell and Warrnambool. That firsthand knowledge makes our connection to the Warrny genuine and hard-earned, not just symbolic.
