From 31 May 2026, you’ll be able to submit New Connection requests for Type 9 street furniture installations via our online portals eConnect and myEnergy.
Type 9 street furniture refers to unmetered or directly measured public assets, such as kerbside electric vehicle chargers, that may use an inbuilt device to measure consumption rather than a traditional electricity meter.
This change aligns with our regulatory obligations under the AEMC’s Flexible Trading Arrangements rule change.
To submit this request, in myEnergy select ‘Request a new connection or supply’, then select the third option ‘New Connection (Type 9 – Street Furniture)’, or in e-Connect select ‘New Connection Request’, then select the third option ‘Type 9 Street Furniture’. It’s important the correct new connection request is submitted to ensure the installation is accurately carried out by our crews.
