We’re updating eConnect so that you can upload a Certificate of Electrical Safety once you submit a New Connection request.

Currently, a Certificate of Electrical Safety can only be uploaded during the application submission process. After the update, you’ll be able to change how the certificate is provided – from ‘Left On Site’ to ‘Attached’. This can be done at any point prior to works being scheduled.

Benefits of providing the Certificate of Electrical Safety prior to us performing works include:

  • the certificate will be validated in the office, reducing the risk of a failed field visit caused by certificate issues
  • as the certificate is provided digitally, there’s no need to reattend site to leave the certificate in the meter box.

We expect this functionality will be available in eConnect by 30 June 2026.
