Trenching involves digging an open pit to put the cables in.
CitiPower is installing new power infrastructure in Fitzroy, Collingwood and Clifton Hill to help maintain a safe and reliable electricity supply now and into the future. Works commenced June 2026.
As part of these works, we’re modernising key infrastructure and preparing to retire some older assets.
This work will make the power network stronger and more resilient, supporting future energy demands in Fitzroy and surrounding suburbs.
While we complete these essential works, you may notice some temporary disruptions to traffic or power supplies. We’ll give you plenty of notice about any planned works or outages, and we’re committed to keeping impacts to a minimum.
