If you are connecting a rooftop solar or a battery system, we require a “smart inverter” that is part of that installation to meet the following criteria:
Inverters that comply with the AS/NZS 4777.2.2015 standard will only be accepted if they are connected to our network before 18 December 2021. The inverters must be configured with the Volt-Watt and Volt-Var power quality response settings as defined in our current Model Standing Offer.
Currently, we are also accepting inverters that comply with the new AS/NZS 4777.2.2020 standard. The inverters must be configured with the ‘Australia A’ default settings.
From 18 December 2021 onwards, only inverters that meet the new AS/NZS 4777.2.2020 standard will be accepted for connection onto our network. This applies to both new systems and existing systems where an inverter replacement is required. The inverters must be configured with the default ‘Australia A’ settings, which will be specified in our updated Model Standing Offer to be released in December 2021.
