CitiPower and Powercor are searching for 37 new apprentices and trainees as part of one of the biggest trade recruitment drives by a Victorian electricity network in years.
The annual recruitment program is seeking apprentice lineworkers, cable jointers, substation electricians and meter technicians. Traineeships are also available for electrical designers and protection and control testers.
The four-year apprenticeship positions are available across regional and metropolitan areas, including Burnley, Brooklyn, Geelong, Ballarat, Horsham, Colac, Maryborough, Warrnambool, Kyneton, Bendigo, Cobram, Shepparton and Mildura. “CitiPower and Powercor is a fantastic place to start your career in the electrical industry,” Mr David said.
“So many of our apprentices go on to have a lifelong career with us and we make sure all of our recruits are supported from day one with their own mentor and access to leaders from across the business.”
Mr David said the variety of positions available showcased the diverse activities needed by networks to deliver safe, reliable and affordable power to homes and businesses.
“These roles are exciting, with each day bringing a new challenges and opportunities to support our customers have access to the essential power they rely on.
“The people we recruit to these roles will be designing new power lines, building new overhead and underground connections or responding to emergency weather events.
